Hissar Trip

A group of 121 students visited a Heritage Trail in Hisar. Rakhigarhi is a rich archaeological repository and an open-air museum for visitors. The excavations at Rakhigarhi and Kunal by the Archaeological Survey of India and Deccan College, Pune reveal phenomenal finds of the Harappan period (Sindhu-SarawatiCivilisation), and the research so far claims that it is the biggest Harappan expanse in the Indian sub-continent. On the foundations of this ancient Harappan town, one finds later historic layers in three different styles-18th -19th CE Havelis, early 20th CE Indo-Saracenic houses and the Art-deco inspired residences.
