Inter House Middle School Debate
The final round of the Arthur Hughes Inter House Middle School Debate was held in the LRC at 2.45 p.m. on March 1, 2012. It was a prepared debate in the Oxford style. The topic of the debate which was declared two days earlier was THBT IT IS MORALLY ACCEPTABLE TO EXPERIMENT ON ANIMALS FOR MEDICAL PURPOSES.
The contestants were well prepared and spoke confidently. The judges were Mrs Abha Naithani, Mrs Sarla Patankar and Ms Ambika Naithani.
Harshun Mehta was declared the Best Speaker and Ganga House came first, followed by Jamuna, Cauvery and Krishna.
Senior School Debate
The final round was held on 17-2-2012 in the LRC at 2.45 pm. The debate was held in the Oxford format. Grade IX and XI participated. The topic for the debate was “Girls are Better Learners than Boys”.
The contestants spoke fluently and confidently. The House believed that what counts are personal attitude and skils and gender does not prove one to be better than the other.
Ritvik Kuchaal was adjudged the Best Speaker. Krishna House emerged on top, followed by Jamuna, Ganga and Cauvery.
